very lovely!!! great job, your lighting is beautiful, you make me so jealous :P i only wish my brushing skills were that good. beautiful planet textures, they give great depth, and i must say your asteriods were a great touch, they are a great size and add more variety to the piece, wonderful work =D

your render is great, though i see the triangular shapes in the landscape as well, they are a little disappointing, but not enough to resist a :+fav: =D

Oke I have a lot of things to say about this one good things and bad things. Let's start with the good things shall we?

First of all I want to say that you have choosen the right colours meaning the match between terragen and the space section, they really do fit together although the bleding could be a bit more blurie. Then there are the planet's that have great textures and the lighting is verry well worked on. Good job on that one! The asteroids look great although they are small they are doing the job that they are supose to do, giving the idea that there are asteroids far away. Also I want to say that those background stars look good, not really amazing but just good.

The bad things now, sorry to start on this but I hope it can help you. Let's start with the frame. The frame has a colour that matches the colour with the upper section of the image, it looks like it is part of the hole picture in that section but is missing stars, clouds and the space parts that are in it. I think you can solve this by making it lighter or darker so it doesn't blend with the upper section. Then there is the nabula. It seems like you added some sort of blast thingie in to it made by using the noise filter and then one of the blur filters (sorry can't get the name right now). I think it is better if you loose that and make something else for it like 3d clouds in front of the nabula, not sure if it will work but it's an idea.

And one minor sugestion. Maybe you can add more shades of shadow to the upper planet like: light, less light, less shadow, normal shadow, dark shadow. You know what I mean? Now I see light, less light, less shadow, normal shadow and that last one is stretched over the biggest part of the planet. Adding more shades of shadow to it makes it more detailed which finally can make it better.

Well that's about it. I hope my sugestion's and pointings can help you with your future images, this is not ment to burn you down to the ground or something becuase this picture is verry good, so good that I wanted to take time and give a nice comment on it that can help you.

Good luck and happy painting ;)

I think you forgot to use the REPLY button eh :P
Ok there's 3 "distance" (Z) "levels". Get the nearest one to the camera, you will see basic peaks. The center peak is triangular.

Man, I was going to click on the fav button when I saw some terrible Terragen faults, as triangular terrains.
Fix then and make a fav'er happy ;D

Very nice work :)

If i could deal with terragen...damn, i'm too stupid for that (tried a few days, then gave up) and don't have the time learn it. I like landscapes added with space, self- rendered is a double plus. Great colors and composition here :D

really good bit of terragen there but i think more of darkness before reaching the space never liked the mixing of terragen and space I think because I am a purist when it comes to space but very well done man

The flame could be a little more impressive, but it still gives that burning sensation...the planets are excellent, and I like the stars and the asteroids/rocks--perfect size. The terrain is cool too...very nice colors and tone. =)
